Weddings
Ranked No 3 in the Top Ten Entertainment Acts in Ireland by Ireland’s
Wedding Journal
2006 Bride of the Year competition winner, Sandra Lynch, whose
total prize was in excess of €17000 worth of wedding day essentials
including the supply of wedding cars, jewellery, honeymoon, dress,
make up and hairstyling, etc;
says that:
“the highlight of the
day was undoubtedly the music at the ceremony” provided
by the Ireland String Quartet.
For over ten years the Ireland String Quartet has been regarded
as the No1 quartet on the island of Ireland by the top wedding
professionals, Ireland Wedding Journal and Irish Brides magazines
and is exclusively recommended to the clients of many top wedding
venues. (Don’t take our word for it)
We offer a comprehensive consultation before the wedding day.
With our vast experience, we can advise you of the various musical
choices available, and maybe inform you of something you may not
have considered as to how the day will unfold.
What we can guarantee, is that you will receive the highest
standard of performance available, and the most expansive playlist
in the country.
What our clients say (testimonials)
The Ceremony
As part of our service we aim to arrive around 45 minutes before
the ceremony is due to start so that we can be set-up and ready
to play before the first guests arrive. We have also found that
this provides an opportunity for us to arrange our seating in conjunction
with the Videographer and photographer, which ensures that we are
not competing for space, or getting in each other’s way.
If we are accompanying a singer, we rehearse their music about
1 hour beforehand.
The music we provide before the ceremony for the ½ hour
or so is included free of charge and we continue
to play, keeping your guests entertained and the groom calm (or
as calm as can be expected) until the ceremony starts, even if
the bride is late (and she probably will be).
The music for all parts of the ceremony will be tailored to your
requirements, for example:
The Processional music,
Accompaniment of the singing of the hymns, with or without organ/piano
Accompaniment of a soloist
Music for during the Signing of the Register
The Recessional music
For the Wedding Mass we can also play for:
The Lighting of the Candle(s)
Gospel Acclamation
Responsorial Psalm
Offertory Procession
Sign of Peace
Communion
Reflection after Communion
For Civil Ceremonies, we are aware of all the religious music
which is not allowed to be performed and can advise you accordingly.
We will try our very best to supply all your musical requests
which are not a part of our repertoire free of charge, however
for complex arrangements there may be an additional fee. Unfortunately
we cannot perform miracles and need plenty of notice to arrange
a new piece. We ask that you let us know at least four weeks before
your wedding.
There will be no additional fees however
for a ceremony that runs late.
The Drinks Reception/Photographs
After the spectacle of the Bride’s entrance, and the joy
and sentiment of the ceremony, the drinks reception can be a bit
of a low point in the day for your guests with the bridal party
being monopolised by the photographer. From experience, the photographs
can take as long as 2 or 3 hours.
Good hosts will want to ensure that their guests are happy, relaxed
and entertained and this is popular juncture for us to keep the
party atmosphere going. We are happy to play outside provided there
is some shade for our instruments, or we can bring a pavilion with
us to make sure there’s no hitch.
If you want, we can bring Ceara Grehan with us to
sing some popular songs for the afternoon.
The Meal
The main advantage to having us play during the meal is that
there is NO comparison between ISQ playing live music
and ‘elevator music’ played through the hotel’s
speaker system.
Members of the bridal party have on more than one
occasion commented that the distraction of our music helped them
relax and enjoy their meal before giving their speech. We provide
suitable subtle and unobtrusive background music and, quite uniquely,
you have the option of choosing (from our extensive repertoire
list) precisely what music you want to hear.
Evening Entertainment
If you want something a little more upbeat and you want something
unique, then why not let us play some songs to get your foot tapping
or to boogie to!!
With the aid of pre-recorded backing tracks and ZETA jazz fusion
midi electric instruments, we can provide a set of songs to dance
to. With plenty of notice we can in most cases arrange any special
song for you, particularly for the first dance and bring them to
life in our own unique style. We can also offer you hits and love
songs with our vocalist Ceara Grehan to add some romance
to the air.
